Community Service
One of our community services is called Penny for Pine.
In 1941, California’s first Penny Pines plantation was sponsored by the San Francisco Sports-women’s Association. Since then, many organizations such as women’s clubs and others has joined this service.
The Woman’s Club of Imperial Beach scholarships. The club awards four (4) scholarships to seniors at Mar Vista High School each year. The criteria for applying for a scholarship is based on academic achievement, leadership, community service, or financial need. Each candidate applies through their counselor at the school. Our President works with the counselor to set the dates for the scholarships to be completed. Applications are generally from February through April and all seniors are eligible to apply.
